Deck buildong tips.
When you are dueling you would want to:
1. Win
Well I for one (would like to and mostly do) win, most of the time, but I also like to make it very a close duel.
Deck building guide:
When you are building your deck you want to have the widest selection of monsters/spell/trap/magic cards you can. Also. Try to get at least one 3000 or higher attack monster in your deck such as a Blue Eyes White Dragon or a Lava Golem.(very hard to come by) etc. etc. In my deck I have three Blue Eyes White Dragon's and a Blue Eyes Ultimate Dragon. The Blue Eyes Ultimate Dragon has 4500 attack points. The Blue Eyes White Dragon has 3000 attack points. The Lava Golem has 3000 attack points also. I regret to say that I don't have a Lava Golem in my deck, Although I have tried to get one. When you are building a deck you need plenty of 4-star-monsters. Such as Gemini Elf or Insect Warrior and other 1900 attack 4-star monsters etc. etc. And (although some guides may go against this) you should have plenty of Spell and Trap cards to. 1. stop your opponent's attack's and to stop your opponent's spell/trap cards, and to lower your opponents/higher your life points. Lowering your opponents life point with spell cards has never helped with me, I always use brute force. That has a plus and a minus, The plus would be that I get very strong cards on the field and that I can use them again and again, A minus would be that if my opponent plays something like Gravity Bind then I can't attack him/her, Although I carry a lot of trap cards that destroy my opponents spell/trap cards then I don't really have to worry about Gravity Bind. It's your call, If you want to use Brute strength, Or use strategy. I for one use both. This is very hard to do though, For you have to be a very hard bargainer to trade and get to the top quick.
Did you know that Spell cards and Magic cards are considered spell cards only?
Now that you are getting a feel for how to build a strong offense we are going to learn to build a effective defense. When you are a deck (your defense part of your deck) you will want monsters with high defense (such as 2000 defense monsters) Also when you are building your deck you want to have the strongest 4-star Monsters (in defense and offense) That you can get your hands on. When you are building the defense of your deck I would suggest you use Mystical Elf (800 attack 2000 defense) or any other monster that has 2000 attack/defense points.
When you are dueling you have to play Sacrificial. When you play Sacrificial you have to know how many monsters have to be Sacrificed for what monster. A 4-star monster or lower star you don't have to Sacrifice anything. A 5 star to 8 star is 2 Sacrifices. A 9 to 10 star monster is 3 monsters. (Yu-gi-oh card monsters stars don't exceed 10 stars.
Card details:
On your monster cards towards the bottom of the card you will see the Atk & Def. Atk means Attack and Def means Defense.
Now that you know the basics to building an offense and a defense you should know what Spell and trap cards to put into your deck (remember. Spell and magic cards are the same kinda of cards they just have different names) I would suggest that you put in some power-up cards (power-up cards are spell or trap cards that raise your monsters attack points) and some cards that will lower your opponents/higher your life-points. another Card that might be handy to have would be Pot Of Greed, Monster reborn ( I don't use the Monster reborn in my deck because it is not legal in tournaments) Hammer Shot is good to have. And any other Spell/Trap card that you you think would be good to have.
Fusion Monsters.
If you happen to have a Blue Eyes Ultimate Dragon and three Blue Eyes White Dragons on hand then you will need a Polymerization and/or a Fusion Gate to Fuse the three Blue Eyes Dragons into a Blue Eyes Ultimate Dragon. Another Fusion monster would be Sanwitch. Sanwitch is a fusion of Sangan and Witch Of The Black Forest. (all fusion monsters are purple monster cards)
